Intelligent Pipeline Cleaning Services

Pipelines are critical infrastructure for the transportation of oil, gas, and other fluids. Over time, pipelines can become clogged with debris, corrosion buildup, or scale deposits, which can reduce efficiency and pose a safety risk. To ensure the smooth operation of pipelines, regular cleaning is essential.

At Inline Services, we offer state-of-the-art Intelligent Pipeline Cleaning Services to keep pipelines in optimal condition. Our team of experts utilizes intelligent pigging technology to clean and inspect pipelines without interrupting the flow of products.

What is Intelligent Pigging?

Intelligent pigging, also known as inline inspection or smart pigging, is a method used to inspect and clean pipelines. It involves inserting a device called an intelligent pig into the pipeline, which uses magnetic flux leakage (MFL) or ultrasonic sensors to detect any abnormalities in the pipe’s interior. These devices are equipped with advanced technology and can collect data on wall thickness, corrosion levels, cracks, dents, and other defects. This data is then analyzed by experts to determine the pipeline’s condition and identify any necessary repairs or cleaning.

Intelligent pigging can be used for both cleaning and inspection purposes, making it a cost-effective solution for pipeline maintenance. The technology is also environmentally friendly as it reduces the need for excavation or digging up pipelines, which can disturb the surrounding ecosystem.

Benefits of Intelligent Pipeline Cleaning

Intelligent pipeline cleaning pigs offer several benefits for pipeline operators, including:

  • Prevents Accidents: Regular cleaning can prevent accidents caused by blockages or excessive corrosion buildup.
  • Identifies Potential Issues: The data collected by an intelligent pig pipeline can detect potential issues before they become major problems, allowing for timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Cost-Effective: Compared to traditional cleaning methods that require pipelines to be shut down, intelligent pigging can be performed while the pipeline is still in operation, reducing downtime and costs.
  • Compliance: Regular pipeline cleaning is required by regulatory bodies to ensure safety standards are met. Our intelligent pipeline cleaning services can help you stay compliant and avoid penalties.

Our Intelligent Pipeline Cleaning Process

At Inline Services, we have a team of experienced technicians who are trained in operating intelligent pig pipeline services. Our process involves the following steps:

  1. Pre-Cleaning Inspection: Before inserting the pig into the pipeline, our team will perform a thorough inspection to assess any potential risks and determine the appropriate pigging tool for the job.
  2. Pigging: The intelligent pig is inserted into the pipeline and propelled through by the product flow. As it moves, it collects data on the condition of the pipeline and removes any debris or buildup.
  3. Data Analysis: The data collected by the intelligent pig is analyzed by our experts to identify any potential issues or areas that require further cleaning or repairs.
  4. Post-Cleaning Inspection: Once the pigging is complete, our team will perform a post-cleaning inspection to ensure the pipeline is free of debris and in optimal condition.
  5. Report Generation: A comprehensive report will be generated, including data analysis, any identified issues, and recommendations for maintenance or repairs.

Simple Pigging System with Drop-Out

This animation demonstrates an Inline Services VIPRS pig running through a line where a JB pig receiver unit is present. Before the pig is placed in the line the valve has been closed so that no product is present behind the VIPRS pig. As the pig moves through the line the inside of the pipe is cleaned and excess product is pushed through to the destination. Once the pig triggers the magnetic pig senor and reaches the JB receiver unit, the unit is removed with the pig inside. Once the pig is removed, the receiver is returned to the pipe.

Simple Pigging System Closure

This animation demonstrates a simple pigging system closure. Inline’s VIPRS pig is positioned in the launcher as the product is run through the pipeline. At the end of the product run, the VIPRS pig is launched to remove all product from the line. The pig will trigger the indicator to alert that the pig has reached the end of the line.

Bi-Directional Pigging

This animation demonstrates Bi Directional Pigging. Inline’s VIPRS pig positioned in the launcher as product is run through the pipeline. At the end of the product run, the VIPRS pig is launched to remove all product from the line. When the VIPRS pig reaches the JB receiver, the propelling media is turned-off. When this happens the VIPRS pig is resting at the jail bar in the JB receiver; propellant is used on the receiver side of the pig to return it to the launcher.

Automated CIP System

This animation demonstrates a fully automated VIPRS bi directional pigging process system with CIP. Inline’s VIPRS pig is first positioned in the pig launcher. The product is pumped from the storage tank to the destination. The VIPRS pig is then launched to push the remaining product to the destination and captured in the VIPRS wash chamber at the destination station. Next, the CIP solution is pumped through the line to wash the chamber and pig. Finally, the pig pushes the CIP solution out of the piping and leaving the pig clean and ready for the next product run.
